There may be a number of reasons why a development may not have
a valid structural warranty in place, ranging from being built
under an architects certificate, to developers going into
administration or liquidation which invalidates any existing
warranties. This can cause major issues for Insolvency
Practitioners with large volumes of housing stock or self builders
wishing to move on as with current mortgage lending criteria
tightening, the properties will be near impossible to sell to the
private market.
This is why we have developed our Completed Housing Warranty for
self builders. This is not generally open to developers; however
developments are considered on a case by case basis. The Completed
Plus scheme has been designed for sites in administration.
